Mark King
Warden
I am the Hall Warden and I live in Royce all year round. My role is to help ensure the hall provides a supportive and enjoyable environment for all the student residents.

If you have any problems, either arising from within the hall or connected with any other aspect of being a student at Loughborough, please contact one of the team who will either deal directly with the issue or refer you to someone who can help. Any discussions you have with us will be in confidence.

There are three Sub-Wardens in Royce, and we work together with the warden, Mark King, to ensure your time in Royce is the best it can possibly be.
My name is Hermione Spencer. I am a PhD student from the school of International Relations, Politics and History. My current research focuses on the ethical implications of incorporating Artificial Intelligence into national security practices, specifically looking at AI decision-making power in counterterrorism, criminal policing, migration management, and military technology.
Outside of my research I enjoy travelling, reading, and cooking. I loved living in Royce as a first year during my undergraduate, so I have now returned as a sub-warden! Feel free to come and say hello if you see me around.

My name is Sam Inchley. I’m a first-year PhD student from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences having completed my bioengineering undergraduate and master’s degree at Loughborough. My research is based around the muscular forces in fast bowlers in cricket. I’m a fan of sport in general, particularly football, cricket and rugby and also enjoy a quiz.

Additionally, I play for the first team of Loughborough Badminton Team.
